Default 8/12 games

Tonight's starters:
- Diaz for Charlotte
- Phillips for B'ham
- Gonzalez for W-S
- Egbert for Kanny

The Knights took an early 1-0 lead on a triple by Harris and a RBI groundout by Brown.

The 'Hogs are winning 3-0 on homers by Collaro and Nanita.

The I's also are up 3-0 on a 3-run shot by King.

So far, so good.

I don't think that could happen now. Other AL teams would block a waiver claim, you'd think. That said, I can't imagine why anyone would trade this guy. He seems to have put it all together in the last six weeks (minus his injury time of course).

Exactly. The waiver possibility, however, is kind of blurry at the moment. The Yankees have supposedly stated they will not claim Griffey, and they're basically the only team (besides Boston) that could pick up that kind of salary. The Yankees also have the strongest need for a CF and the highest ability to stretch payroll, so if they're not going to do it, who will? Despite all of this, I think that Aubrey Huff was the only really solid fit for the Sox based on his salary, age, and expendability, and now that that's impossible, I'm fine with riding this lineup all the way to the world series.
