Default Matt Albers on Fire

Yeah THE Matt Albers. He's currently 9th in the NL for reliever ERA at 1.66.

I know the bubble will burst on him eventually again but always had a soft spot for him. Hope he continues his successful season.

Makes you wonder what happened to him when he left the Sox and what Washington may have done to turn him around.

Juan Agosto II. He got wild in the strike zone with that nice sinker of his last year and it got hit.

The Nats fanbase loves a big pitcher: Livan Hernandez was the face of that team for a long time. Albers is extremely popular in DC.

He had some really nice runs with the Sox too, just got overused last year. There were stretches when he was lights out effective though and you'd look forward to him coming into the game.

In other words Ventura screwed up another pitcher with bad bullpen management.

That goes without saying.

Probably my favorite moment of the 2016 season. Albers doubles, scores the go ahead run on a sac fly, and then closes out the win.

Eh, the mystique for me was lost when he notched his first (and second) save in May.

(For those who aren't aware, Albers had more than 100 "games finished" in his career before earning a save, which was a record by a long way.)
