Micker Adolfo also will be out for the season after having arthroscopic surgery on his elbow. Should probably add him to the afterthought group of the rebuild now. This is getting pretty bad.

Did he say what Nate Jones was on the list for, or are the White Sox just okay with listing "Nate Jones" on the IL notes at this point.

Damn! Was hoping for better news about and prognosis for Rodon.

Anyone seen anything about Eloy's timetable? He was in the dugout during this past road trip, but I haven't seen anything about a rehab assignment yet.

He will begin a rehab assignment in Charlotte tomorrow.

No offense to Nate Jones, but it doesn't break my heart if I never see him pitch again for the Sox. Somewhere else, fine.

As for Rodon, this sucks. He had some moments where he looked like a legit staff ace and now this. Unbelievable.

Do the Sox sign Keuchel to shore up this thin rotation? Bring up Cease?

At this point, I'd like them to put him in a glass case with instructions to open in 2023.

Going forward with the rebuild I would say that Rodon cannot be counted on to be part of it, it's a shame because the talent is there but we have never seen it for any real length of time. As far as Jones goes, we will never see him again in a White Sox uniform.

Rodon will not be back with the team before free agency. His White Sox career is essentially over.

Sox have him through '21, so his career here is not over.

Maybe... Maybe not...

Would you pay big money for Carlos Rodon going forward? Not sure what happens next year with arbitration, but don't think the Sox will just cut him so he might get paid the same as this year to sit on his ass and rehab. Then at least one site says there will be a 4th year of arbitration in 2021. He'll be back for that season.

I doubt he wants to sign a deal at present past that date, but if the Sox offered him 4/50 with the contract back loaded he just might take it.

Edit: that contract number is too high in hindsight as he'll probably get ~$9M total over the final two years of arbitration so 4/35 makes it $13M/year for his first two years of FA.

Hes arbitration eligible through the 2021 season.

So are you saying that his recovery will take more than 2.5 seasons?

Or are you saying the Sox will not offer him arbitration for 2021 (or even for 2020)?
