Default Anyone been to a Chicago Dogs game?

That's the independent league team that plays in Rosement, IL. This is their second season and according to Wikipedia they have 37-year old Carlos Zambrano on the roster now.

I am in Chicago in July and the Dogs will be home playing a series against the Gary RailCats. Thinking of going. Anyone been?

My daughter and her boyfriend went to a game last season and had a great time. It would be worth going just to be able to heckle Zambrano (again)!

Haven't been to that game but have been to several other minor league games in my life and have had a great time at all of them. It's nice to go to a game I don't really care about the outcome and just enjoy the ambiance of being at a baseball stadium.

The location is great. There's a Dave and Buster's a stone throw from the park and the Rosemont Entertainment District is just on the other side the Tri-State (the Tri-State is over the Right Field wall).

If anyone does go, make sure to point up at the sky when Zambrano can see it.

He loves that. LOL

The only Minor League game I've attended was back in 1999 when the entire golf staff at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club were comped for a Ft. Myers Miracle game (Twins A ball team). The highlight of the night was when we were invited up to the press box to lead the crowd in the singing of Take Me Out To The Ballgame during the 7th inning stretch.
As Voodoo said it was nice to just enjoy the game without any rooting interest.

I haven't, but my friend is the broadcaster for another American Association team: the Gary SouthShore RailCats, and through that connection, I've filled in as official scorer a few times (and once for the Schaumburg Boomers, who have the same owner). I didn't score at all last year, but I'll be back in Gary to score the night before Memorial Day. Really looking forward to it.
