Someone please see these last three Nova starts and take him off our hands for a low level flier.

Middle-of-the-lineup hitters are all playing snakebit. Need those dinged up guys back now. Nova's good when he's good, isn't he? I'd move him, but not for next to nothing. Colome too, what the hey.

I would rather see the White Sox get a good return for Nova and Marshall. If the Twins can trade for Romo at this point in his career, Marshall might be looking pretty good.

I move him for more jingle in the chairmans pocket. He just doesnt fit in a lost year and not for the future. Give his starts to someone that may matter in the future.

You won’t get a top 100 back for that package, but maybe an interesting prospect or two.

Colome/Nova has Brewers written all over it. But I wouldn't mind some diversity in trading partners.

Really? I think Colome could get you a top-100 prospect, granted it’s likely to be someone ranked in the 90s though

I think there’s a few teams in the hunt in both leagues who could really use that combo down the stretch.

How interesting that you want to give up two good pitchers for one unproven prospect who might not measure up to either one of them.

I’ve been reading a lot about potential trades and returns, and when I have a minute I’ll link to it, but the general thought is that we’ve been inflating what we think is a realistic return in most trade discussions here.

I don’t mean to be flip here, but it’s what every selling team does.

Colomé + Nova is underwhelming by itself. Colomé + Nova + all their remaining salary (~$5 million) + taking bad 2020 money off someone’s books may get some teams interested.

The problem with Colomé is that every team who wants him wants Shane Greene more. Plus, the Giants have relief pitching that can further dilute the market. Plus, Kirby Yates is probably available.

We have to make our offer stand out somehow. Making the move a net payroll reduction for the other team is the way you do it. Even if the Tigers offered Greene, Colomé + all his 2019 salary + freed up 2019 money to facilitate another trade + freed up 2020 money to help pay Colomé in 2020 may be a better option. Doing a trade this way may even let a team get Greene and Colomé.
