Cleveland is close to sending Kluber to Texas according to Passan.

And Trout and Rendon hitting back to back will provide plenty of run support.

Their owner is willing to spend stupid money.

Southern California versus South Side just seals the deal.

I’d laugh if Cleveland gets Walker in the package.

This.

As it stands right now, I certainly would bet on the Angels reaching a World Series before the White Sox.

None of which explains why LAAAAA is going to be “pretty good next season.”

Huh? Simmons is a shortstop. If he were on the Sox, Anderson would be our right fielder.

So, they have two good hitters in their order and a loud mouth manager and now they're WS bound.

What a crock of ****. Just say it, they spent money and we didn't and that's all that matters.

If Simmons were a Sox, he'd be a utility IF when Madrigal is ready.

After the Trout extension, the Angels needed to make a splash to show they weren't a one-man team. The plan going into the offseason was to sign one of the top two pitchers, addressing their biggest team need. When that didn't work out, they went for the next splashiest option, which was Rendon.

Yes, they have two MVP-caliber players in their lineup. But with one of those players they were only able to win 72 games last year due to their weak rotation. Rendon's 6 WAR isn't going to all of a sudden bump them into playoff contention. Keuchel would be a good start for them, but how much money are they willing to throw at their rotation, now that they have over $650 M invested in two players? Not to mention "bad money" investments in Upton and Pujols. I don't see the Angels having the payroll flexibility to push their team into real contention within this window.

I didn’t say they were World Series bound. I said I certainly like their chances of reaching one before we do.

Neither team has enough pitching, but I like the Angels’ chances of getting that pitching.

Yeah, with this Reinsdorf-led ownership group, it always seems to boil down to spending money. So far, it’s not exactly looking good.

No, he’s right. Anderson would be an outfielder.

Like I said, you only care about spending $. The Angels are a two player team and one of those players just got a huge contract at 30. They are the opposite of the plan that actually works in the MLB. Big signings augment self-built rosters for contenders, not drive them
