Because using an orange base is typically used to avoid collisions. There are not many collisions at first base now. There is no problem to solve.

I'd also like to see profession baseball players who play first base handle the bag with great footwork.

Okay, well to me it seemed a good idea. The first baseman still will have to use good footwork on questionable throws which is a much more common than avoiding collisions - which as you pointed out is not common. Runner has to tag the orange bag to be safe so it eliminates the interference issue for the most part. If the runner is online for orange and there is a collision the runner cannot be accused of interference.

Zach Greinke is absolutely filthy tonight.

He is. But he is also getting an expanding strike zone.

Umps been giving the corners but not the low strike. That last one was a prime example.

I didn’t think bringing in Harris here was a great idea. That was confirmed with the 2 run home run.

Gonna be some regrets about squandered opportunities if 3-2 holds. Baseball can be a pitch.

Still no Cole? Pretty surprised by that. Maybe he told them he's not feeling strong enough. He's got a BIG payday coming this offseason. Might not want to risk it.

The irony in which another Will Harris ends up being involved in the Astros getting beat at home in the world series. If this score holds. There's still plenty of game left.
