Ok....but you said he rarely got past the 4th inning, and anything past that was not significant. This is just false. You are now only talking about after the 6th inning... Moving goal posts.

Yes he's better than Covey - what a high bar that is. What are we talking about here? 78 wins again? Or serious contention.
Heís not just better than Covey heís better at this point than all of the starters with the exception of Giolito! It would be a smart move dollar wise as well if they land Wheeler! It also takes the pressure off the young starters as well. Just because heís older doesnít mean heís finished. Sure in a perfect world they could land all 3 of the top starter free agents but thatís never going to happen for more reasons than one. I donít want to see Fulmer, Nova, or any of those other weak links they were calling up last year!

It's a toughie. He looks biffed up as a football bat on the mound, like he's sweating bullets. Somebody with the next team might figure him out and they'd have an asset. He's worked with our AAA guy and Coop and he still has the spin rate and can't hit a spot consistently. Didn't Verlander reduce his spin rate to improve his control? You're the experts on this, not me.
Perfect is the enemy of good.

Burr and Frare were signed to new minor league contracts.

Good job freeing up the 40-man spots without losing these two.
