Their current look was perfect, this is an unnecessary change. If they want a polished throwback look, then add that as an alternate to the actual throwbacks. But not as a main.

We're gonna look back at this minimalist trend as boring is a few years. Rays, Stros, and now Crew. And a bunch of NBA unis that just have team name or city with no extras.

The cycle will revert to a colorful 90s look, then back to minimalist, back to colorful, etc.
I agree it’s reverting back but it’s going back to the ‘70s and ‘80s look, not the ‘90s. Baseball uniforms were pretty bland in the ‘90s because they were reverting back to the more traditional look of the ‘40s and ‘50s.

The Rangers have announced new home uniforms and a Sunday home alternate that's powder blue.

The powder blue looks pretty hideous.

I'm already hating on the Nike logo on the chest. Maybe on the sleeve or the back near the MLB logo but not on the chest. I can't image how bad that's going to look on the classic uniforms like the Yankees, Dodgers, and Cardinals.

Agreed. Players will look like NASCAR drivers in ten years.

Next step will be selling team nicknames to the highest bidder.

Our uniform is classic too.

If team names are sold off, which is very possible, it'll be terrible...

I was a doubter, but maybe, just maybe we can win with pitching, defense and fundamentals.

Why does MLB allow the Nike emblem on the uniform?

People have been saying this since Jim McMahon was fined for wearing his Adiddas headband in 1985.

UnderArmor had the contract at first but that fell through at the last minute, so Nike got the deal. The ad placement looks just awful but I think it is only a matter of time before they start selling ads there, on the sleeves, etc. Because God knows these franchises are hurting for money.
