Default **Official** 2019 Playoffs

NL Wild Card game tonight in Washington between the Brewers and Nationals, winner advances to play the Dodgers. Interesting that both teams entered the league in 1969, each under different names (Seattle Pilots and Montreal Expos).

AL Wild Card game on Wednesday in Oakland between the Rays and A's, with the winner taking on the Astros.

NLDS's start Thursday, with the wild card winner at LA and St. Louis opening at Atlanta. ALDS's start on Friday with the wild card winner at Houston and Minnesota at New York. DS's are all best-of-5.

That 1/4 million is getting closer and closer to slipping through my fingers.

Huge hit by Soto for the Nationals in the bottom of the eighth with the bases loaded and 2 outs to clear the bases and give Washington a 4-3 lead.

Nats advance. First time in their tenure in Washington that they have actually advanced in the postseason (had gone 0-4 in previous playoff series).

That was a wild ending. Nationals could give the Dodgers a hell of a series.

I can't even imagine going down to a kick in the junk like that misplay.

I'm not even a Brewers fan, and I'm at least a little pissed off about it.

As mentioned, Nats were 19-31 through the first 50, and finished 93-69, so they went 74-38 in the last 112. If they had played that way all season, they would have won 107 games and tied Houston for best record.

This is not your typical wild card team.

Watching that replay, and I'm still trying to figure out why he took the angle to the ball that he did, unless he thought it was hit harder than it was.

Nats up 2-0 in the NLCS before the first pitch of the ALCS has been thrown. Sitting pretty comfortable right now especially since Strasburg hasn't pitched yet. Also knowing they will be facing Scherzer at least one more time, Cards can't be too comfortable.

Have to feel the Cards are doing some second guessing right now when it comes to the decision to have allowed Jack Flaherty to throw 104 pitches with a 10 run lead in Game 5 of the NLDS.

EDIT: A lot of credit has to go to the Nats pitching as well. They've shut down St. Louis' offense.

I'll be at Game 3 of the NLCS, Flaherty vs Strasburg.

It will be MUCH warmer in DC for Game 3 than it was in St. Louis for the first 2 games. Could mean more hits.

Cards are 4-for-57 (.070) with 3 BB and 18 K in the series, with only one XBH. Shut down is an understatement.

And that XBH should have been a routine out.

I like Eaton and am glad to see him doing well. I always liked how hard he played and had a positive interaction with him at spring training years ago.

Nats have been pretty impressive so far; it might be their year. Iíd like to see a Nats-Astros World Series.

If that's the series, take the under, especially if each team gets enough rest to set their pitching rotations up the way they want them. Would be interesting to see Verlander vs. Scherzer, with me celebrating the fact that neither one of them is in the AL Central anymore.
