Lol. I'm not offended by it...1) It sounds like motivation to him and 2) I don't need him to have a good beside manner if he can help our staff become a world series staff. We'll see.

Any time we fans don’t just shut up and kiss the ring, someone in this organization always makes it a point to demean us. People in this organization, from the Chairman on down, would do well to remember that we fans don’t owe them ****.
This is an absolute embarrassment from one of the world’s most prominent brown-nosers.

Must be a slow news day someone went to Don Cooper and asked him what he likes and dislikes about his job. Now we got some controversy and nothing sells like that...

Not this time. This was directly concocted by team-owned media as a chance to grind an axe. Hahn also brought this topic up earlier in the season, as did Renteria.

Yeah, I lasted about a week as a Facebook "friend" of Cooper before I said something that pissed him off and he unfriended and blocked me. It takes very little to set him off.
In case you're wondering, all I had said was that I wasn't a big fan of Eddie Einhorn. Coop didn't bother to wait to hear why, just went off on me, told me what a "man's man" Einhorn was, then immediately blocked me.

I love Coop's honesty and have no problems with what he said. None. But, perhaps he should think about getting off social media?

I also don’t have any problem with what Cooper said, as I think it is true. Way too many fans (not just Sox fans, mind you) think they know enough about what is going on with their favorite team to offer meaningful criticism. I have been fortunate in that a good friend of mine worked closely with Reinsdorf for years. Also, one of my best friends played for 5 years in the NFL until his knees gave out. Based on the stories they have told me, even fans who closely follow a team maybe knows about 10% of what is going on with the team on the field. And off the field... forget it. Fans know next to nothing about all the off the field matters.

He's a company man through-and-through. I don't believe for a second that his past attendance shaming of fans was just him being rogue - I see it as him reflecting the view of his bosses. |

I'm more than tired of Cooper's pitchers not throwing strikes and not bothering to hold runners on. It's been going on for many years. I also don't think he deserves to take credit for Giolito's improvement. In any case, I think the team would greatly benefit from a complete change in the coaching staff, including Cooper and Renteria.

I never said I disagreed with what Don Cooper is saying....just how he says it. Big difference. Misrepresenting what other posters say is an easy way to just dismiss their point of view.

But Coop has always said these things in that way. Time after time when he gets asked about fans and their opinions he is very quick to deride the fans and dismiss everything we fans say. It's really nothing new.
