I actually read that Cooper and other pitching coaches/instructors in the Sox system were starting to use advanced analytics (spin rate, etc.) this year.

At some point this organization is going to have to accept that it's operating in the 21st century. This isn't the 80s or earlier where fans got their snippet from the beat writer every day. Social media isn't going to disappear, nor should it, because Cooper is a cranky old man

I agree that it's not new but I still don't have to like it. And I don't. Never have. The fans should not be criticized for having their opinions or for not showing up to the park, which he's also done, multiple times. Saying something like you have to do your job and you can't do your job by listening to the fans, reading social media all day etc. is fair enough. Cooper has been much more dismissive, scornful, disrespectful than that. It's unnecessary and obnoxious.

Of course that's just my opinion, so Sox management can ignore it.
