Right now Anderson does not have enough ABs to qualify for the batting championship because of the lost time due to injury, he's about 10 short but who thinks he has a shot at winning it.
It sure would be a great thing for him and the club to get some national recognition, hopefully this would be just the beginning of the club becoming relevant again in not only Chicago but across the nation.

He'd be tied with the top two guys at present. Hope he gets hot. Just having someone in the top 5 would be pretty cool. FYI, Moncada is currently 10th at .305. Edit: Tim is currently 4th for players who stand a chance at qualifying or currently are qualified.

If Tim falls short of the 504 plate appearances, I believe he would still be declared the champion if he was given an "0 fer" for the number of plate appearances needed to get to 504 and still had the highest average. So if Tim finished with 495 plate appearances, if you added an additional 9 at bats to his total and he still had the highest average, he would win the batting championship. In other words, I don't believe the 504 plate appearance requirement is a bright line. I seem to recall this coming into play in the late 1960's or early 1970's with Rich Reese of the Twins.
Regardless, he's had a heck of a year.

I decided last month that Anderson will be my next jersey purchase. Beat out Eloy.

Sounds like you're talking about Kaplan's show. When he's done gushing about his Cubbies, he seems forced and phoney when he gives a few minutes of air-time to the Sox.

Kaplan seems pretty high on the White Sox rebuild. And pretty much every time the Cubs lose, he talks about how the Cubs arrow is pointing down while ours is pointing up. |

You got that right. Now if he could only work on his throws...

If he stays healthy, Anderson will probably have enough plate appearances to qualify for the AL batting title. However, Anderson will probably have to hit .330+ the rest of the season to be close. That may be a tall order.
On the brighter side, Anderson is likely to lead MLB in errors for the 2nd time in the last three years. |

Kicked a few today, didn't he? And I had stopped worrying about him... What the hey, evens up for that throw from the outfield yesterday that still has me agape.

A whole month? That ID has never even had a post that wasn't trolling.
