Anderson up to 495 plate appearances, so he needs 7 more in the remaining 8 to officially be eligible for the batting title.

Have to really dig into the history, but I wonder if Anderson will set the record for fewest walks drawn by a MLB batting average leader.

From what I remember seeing before, the lowest in history is 4 or 5%, IIRC.

Anderson, if he wins the title, will also be the player to do it with the fewest walks in history.

1-for-5 today for Tim.

LaMahieu 2-for-4

Hope it's not a momentum-changing day

TA is still first at .334. LeMahieu, Marte, and Yelich are at .329. Moncada is 9th at .316.

I actually chuckled. Everyone has their own way of viewing the world. I certainly don't want to call HF out.

I'm just teasing and for what little it's worth, I agree.

Tim one for three in an otherwise very bleak game tonight.

Smart play by Ricky to bat Goins in the 8th.

LeMahieu is six points behind with five games to go. TA has 503 PA right now, fully eligible, and is in the driver's seat. LeMahieu is going to need multi-hit games in virtually all five remaining games, or will need 0-for-the-rest-of-the-season from TA to even have a chance. Ricky can ensure that doesn't happen.

The top two NL batting leaders are out for the season. Rendon is going to need a Ted-Williams-like effort in the final five days to surpass those two.

Jealous scrubs at the bottom of the lineup are conspiring to get him another at-bat, though.

LeMahieu's night is done and he is at .328
