I don't know what the offensive remarks were, but I do know that we have a lot of young pitching talent in the system, this guy has big skills in that area and is unemployed. Just saying.

I think Steve McCatty has been doing a fine job. Whatever he did with Dylan Covey and Xavier Cedeno definitely worked, at least in the short term.

You're 100% right, but you can never have too many pitching gurus.

He claims the remarks in question contained a word often referred to African-Americans, but taken out of context. Even so, it's dumb to say that in that environment.

This Cubs FO knows what it's doing with its coaching personnel.
See Renteria, Ricky.
Not a second time, thank you. (or a third time, if you count the Shark, The).

Saw a story today where Bosio is now considering suing the Tigers.

Story in today's paper (and if it was in the Tribune I can say it here) that the objectionable word was "monkey" applied to a white player whose nickname has "monkey" in it, but it was overheard by a black employee who thought it was intended for him. A hot mess, but it doesn't make Bosio radioactive.

I mean, the guy turned journeyman Scott Feldman into piching the best of his life and he was traded midseason for the mediocre Jake Arrieta who Bosio then turned into a Cy young winner. I'm pretty sure the Cubs fired him for sassing Joe about his handling of the bullpen in the playoffs.

Chris Bosio is not going to take a job as a low-minors pitching coach, and the White Sox are not going to fire a low-minors pitching coach to offer him a job.

According to the Ken Rosenthal article in The Athletic, some players and personnel who were there when the incident occurred dispute Bosio's version of events. Also, the white player in question that Bosio claims was named "Spider-Monkey" was unaware of that nickname for himself which also blows a hole in Bosio's story. Bosio also has a reputation of being abrasive and litigious. Between Don Cooper, McCatty, Dave Duncan, and Richard Dotson, I think the Sox have enough good pitching minds to not bother with the Bosio mess.
