to see a whole lot more coverage from both in and outside Chicagoland. Almost all negative.
All those stories are from 3 years ago, around the time of the re-naming. Almost nothing since. All those articles can reasonably be viewed as filler. I have not heard any mention of this outside of this forum. Believe me, no Washington, Baltimore, or any other fan (including the Cubs fans I know) has uttered a word about this to me. I'd be surprised if any non-Sox fans (aside from Cubs fans) had given this more than 30 seconds thought in 2016. In 2019? Only if a Sox fan brings it up, I suppose.

If they want me to go to more games and give them more of my money/time/attention, then like any other business they first have to offer me a good product (on the field).

Not given cheap half-assed attempts in free agency is one way this team can get more of my money.
That's a different issue, IMO. I agree. I am less likely to spend time and money on bad teams, but I will never change my allegiance to the 4 main teams I root for. Nothing can make me stop being a fan. I root for the laundry until the day I die.

Well, duh. Doesn't mean it wasn't a big embarrassment to the Sox to the time (and a story outside of Chicago).

Was it as big an embarrassment as Eaton calling Drake LaRoche a clubhouse leader, or Sale getting the scissors? No, but those stories reflected more poorly on Eaton and Sale than on the team.

Really highlights how poorly a lot of FO moves were thought out. Hopefully, the powers that be have learned enough from their mistakes that the next decade will go much better.

To that end, there are some cringeworthy picks for The Athletic's All-Decade Team for the Sox.
