Default Illinois to get Cardinals license plates

https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cu...mpression=true
That should satisfy the southern half of the state.

I applaud this. I like when people's cars inform me that they are morons.

Very surprised it took this long. You can seemingly get any major team in any state these days, geographic ties be damned. Here in Virginia, I have seen Michigan State plates. And I think an image just went viral the other day of a car in Texas with Michigan (as in, the university in Ann Arbor) plates.

Yes, growing up my parents had the "environmental" plates which featured a male cardinal on it.

How does that indicate the car owner is a "moron?" We're not talking about Cub fans...….

My grandfather's Cadillac also had that plate.

Cardinals fans are their own breed of silly. No one beats Cubs fans, but it's different.

Pretty much every experience I've had with Cardinals fans has been negative. And I went into all those interactions WANTING to get along with them and assuming we'd have common ground because we both don't like the Cubs.

I'd have said jerks instead of morons, but it's one of my less favorite fan bases in MLB.

What's the problem with the southern half of the state?

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought that the state was going to honor the old Chicago Cardinals. My thoughts are that I find it strange that a state would honor a team from another state. Must be a lot of Cardinal fans in Springfield and the Illinois state legislature.

60 years after the NFL Cardinals left Chicago...

Springfield is closer to St Louis than.
