I think the achilles heal of the Cubs rebuild and run of success has been their lack of success in developing starting pitching (or almost ANY quality pitching). With 3 aging rotation starters (Lester, Darvish, Hamels) that are costing them north of $60M along with little depth in case of injury- I think this could be a long, frustrating summer on the northside.

Beyond that issue- not sure about the quality of their CF, RF and 2nd baseman- looks like the Brewers have not lost their magic from 2018- the NL Central will be a real dogfight.

Albert Almora is a nice CF and Lester appears to have nine lives. Maddon keeps juggling the line, by position and that's ridiculous.

This game is very entertaining.

Cy Hendricks was rocked.

8-0 now Braves.

Edwards Jr. changing his delivery this offseason and then being told yesterday by MLB that it's illegal, he looks like he's balking, is hilarious.

My favorite stat so far this season, Jason Heyward has hit in to more double plays so far this season than 20 teams.

Just saw the Cubs pen in 17&1/3 innings has given up 17 earned runs and walked 17 batters.

Me neither. Guys like Bote seem to be a dime a dozen and are available every off-season.

Zobrist will be gone. Bryant may be moved to the outfield. Russellís future as a Cub is still very much in doubt. The payroll is maxed out. The farm depth is suspect.

The one major drawback I can think of is that Bote canít play shortstop. Other than that, may as well get the deal done.

I figured that Baez would move over to short if and when they get rid of Russell.

Right now Cubs fan's angers seem to be directed towards Epstein/Hoyer.

It's the bullpen, of lack of spending for one, that ticks off their faithful.
