If we were competing for a wild card spot, then sure, but we arenít, so why bother?
This.

I hate the idea of prioritizing offense and neglecting defense on a team bound for nowhere. Iím fine with designating Alonso for assignment and letting Kemp DH when he gets healthy, but I donít want Kemp anywhere near the outfield. I donít think itís a coincidence that this team started playing better baseball when the Eloy/Leury/Palka OF alignment went bye-bye.

Yes. Iíve said this elsewhere, but I think I now want Eloy to DH full time for the remainder of this season, but I want him working on his defense daily with a coach, and watching the left fielder from the dugout during the games.

But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said.

Bingo. Canít miss the forest for the trees by worrying about games in another uncompetitive season.

To trade him at the deadline? To add lineup protection for young hitters? To fill an outfield void in RF where no real option exists in the short term?

Yuck. Hard pass on Kemp in the outfield.
