Default Please Cut Palka

While Palka may have been great in the minors, at the MLB level he is clearly outclassed by the opposing pitching. He looks like he just wildly swings at everything. While it may be true that the Sox hitting coach is incompetent, Palka looks so horrible that it seems hard to believe that any hitting coach, no matter how good, could make a difference with him,

Drop Palka now.

"While it may be true that the Sox hitting coach is incompetent"

Evidence is not on the side of Steverson being incompetent.

0.019!

Why give Yermin Mercedes some at bats when we've got Palka! Maybe he can get hot and raise his average to .100.

He is at 1 for 53. If he goes 5-for-5 he could blow right past that and reach .103. If he goes 12-for-12 he will be at .200.

His grindiness and TWTW must be off the charts.

I've seen the Palka excuses and apologies all but disappear. This is a good thing.

1 for 53 with 22 strikeouts. And his one hit was an infield single. He's defied the law of averages. I feel bad for him, but there's no reason to continue to give him regular at bats or bat him 7th in the order. Hard to believe how far he's fallen from last season.

I am actually rooting for the lowest BA possible. It's fun.

Palka was a bright spot in a very dark year in 2018, but there were a lot of signs that indicated he'd have a hard time replicating his success. I get why he made the team out of spring training as a sort of reward for his success last year, but this is way past embarrassing now.

He's not starting today. Goins is in RF, Collins is at first and Moncada is the DH.

I don't think there's any reason to cut someone in the middle of September, since rosters are so large. But...yeah, he'll definitely be cut this offseason.

Lol...THIS

I told my boy last night: "Palka is hitting 19."
He said: "19 what? Home runs?"

I had to explain that it was his actual batting average.

Yeah, but if they bring up Mercedes now that starts his service clock. Better to hold off on bringing him up until April 20.

I think that it is well beyond the point where they stop this. For the good of the team, the front office, Palka and the fans. Enough is enough.

I think Palka is terrible, which is sad because he is very likeable. But his BABIP is .032.... So to some extent hes been insanely unlucky. He isn't even getting the cheap flares or seeing eye singles.
