Some of us even before that when we were drawing on cave walls with George pre millennia. Yes, we are OLD. Not the oldest bladderhead, seamhead or puckhead, but we are old.

Since the second inning of Friday night's game, when the Sox took a very temporary 4-1 lead, they were outscored 28-1. Boys versus men. Are the Twins really that good? Are the Sox really that bad? I guess the answer is somewhere in between.
Minnesota now has a 12-game lead in the Central. And the Sox are licking their wounds after an encouraging showing in Houston.

I don't want to hear another word about this team actually having a chance to contend for a playoff spot this season.

Whatever happened to George? Or Far West Chicago or Michelle for that matter?

Well said. It is what it is at the moment. Good news is Robert should be in AAA by end of the year and possibly much sooner. He will almost for sure be ready by next season assuming he actually can continue to grow. Basabe is looking solid also.

A lot of what things will depend on are Kopech, Cease and Rodon returning to form after they recover or some other pitchers stepping up on lower levels and developing and there are players who might do that.

An American League team that isn't very good could well get to the postseason this year. Certainly one will make the wild card play-in game as the the A's last year.

But the White Sox will not be that team.

Getting outscored 26-5 in the three game series is shameful.

Correct all around. The kvetching over it is fairly useless unless it’s just blowing off steam.

Yeah, but when the opponent is hitting homers like it's the steroid era, these scores are to be expected. Not excusing our performance over the weekend, but something to keep in mind.

They probably have the fans blowing out when the Twins are batting, and in when the visitors are batting.

I can't help but think that the Twins are playing way over their heads right now . they may be a good team, but i don't think that they are THIS good . they are in a place where everything is going their way . if Jimenez's liner to right, is several feet to the right fielders left, that's a double, and 2 runs on the board . a game of inches i guess . of course the White Sox are not a good team, but i don't think that they are as bad as this past lost weekend portrayed them to be . i'm expecting to face a different team come the end of June, when we face the Twins again.

Well- it was a pretty bad team they put out there this weekend- only three starters are part of a contender (Jimenez, Moncada, Abreu), only one rotation starter (Lopez- maybe...if he develops), the rest of our players were a mix of AAAA players getting a shot, guys that should be bench players at best, and rookies struggling in the early days of their major league careers.

This team might have had an outside shot at .500/2nd Wild Card this season- but we don't have the talent or the depth to overcome the injuries to Kopech, Rodon and (for this weekend) Anderson, and the complete lack of production from veteran FA signings like Alonso, Jay and Castillo- and now Herrera.

Well I'm going to get into my rant....

The Sox spent the off season chasing the "superstar" Machado while the Twins spent their time filling their needs. Guess who was right? As soon as we lost Kopeck. We should have focused on getting a replacement (and I mean a real replacement).

As far as defense, I can't believe what I witnessed. Jimenez looks unsteady (trying to be kind) and Tilson was ... no need to dive into that. What is happening in the minors? Do they stress defense? I'm just not talking about the stumbling around antics we saw but how to play with a "high sky", why you need to have sunglasses, what base to throw to in certain situations, how to setup for a throw, ....I give up.

Or maybe the league has come back to them.
