By comparison, Tilson has gotten about 250 PAs and Cordell 150 PAs and neither have really gotten anything more than sporadic starts. Nothing like the stretch Engel was given. If there is any glimmer of undiscovered value of the three, it's more likely to be found in the players who haven't gotten as much PAs at the big league level.

Tilson and Castillo for Clint Frazier!

Any schmo for a 26 YO A+ pitcher with moderate stats.

Only 143 more to go before we can accurately judge him! [/BA]

Cut Jay - he's pointless. Okay, see if he catches fire for a month and then cut him after the deadline.
Bring Palka up...he actually had decent stretch. The other guys didn't have the time Engel had, but Engel's was excessive. And Engel played better D than Tilson or Cordell.

Perfectly said.

We're a team that is in it's last season of pure rebuilding with sights set on contending in 2020- we don't need Alonso, Castillo or Jay- no point at all- Palka (DH/1B/RF), Collins(C/DH/1B) and Tilson (4th/5th OF) should be getting the experience at the major league level- they all have a potential role in 2020- if no more than platoon/bench roles.

I'm fine with never seeing either one of them in Chicago again. Nor do I want to keep Alonso or bring up Jay.

Collins is a better hitter than Alonso or Palka, and there's no room for Jay or Engel unless we trade away Leury. And in that case, I still prefer Tilson to Engel and Cordell to Jay.

The Sox have officially called up Collins. Castillo to the 10-day IL. Jace Fry was also reinstated.

Didnít know where else to put this, but look for Collins to get his first start in the Texas series. While Sundayís starter is TBD, both Friday and Saturday feature RHP starters for the Rangers. Maybe he DHs on Friday and catches on Saturday. Also, the wind should be blowing from the south, which usually paradoxically means a jet stream out to RF at Globe Life Park, which means if Collins gets ahold of a pitch it ought to go a long way.

Our pitchers have really struggled to stay healthy this year.

He can play 1B also. They could DH Abreu and bench Yonder or give Abreu a day off entirely somewhere in there.

Is 447 feet considered a long way?

Not compared to the 505-footer Mazara hit off Lopez. Good call on the jet stream to right.
