I have a difficult time understanding Guillen. This is a guy who has been out of work since getting bounced out of Miami a few years ago. So naturally the Sox sign him up as an analyst. Personally, I've grown tired of his act. Would prefer to hear almost anyone else. I do like Chuck G. and Leila. Thomas has grown into the job and appreciate his insights. And I always liked Bill Melton.

As far as Alonzo goes, another bad signing. Sox failed to land Machado, but I figured Alonzo would contribute something on both offense and defense. So far he's been a dismal failure.

It's even worse. Every plate appearance gets him closer to the 550 needed to vest for 2020.

This is really the only thing I'm worried about. I'd rather not call Collins up unless it's his time, and honestly its more likely that he sticks at catcher than it is Eloy sticks in left, so I'd rather not cement another player at DH because it makes a move for Eloy all the more difficult.

But in no way should Alonso get 550 plate appearances. And I'm worried he's going to heat up just in time to make it interesting, doubling down on this folly.

Did Sportsvision have pre and postgame shows

I know the flubs have had the Lead Off Man and 10th inning since the Brickhouse days. What about Sox

I was a doubter, but maybe, just maybe we can win with pitching, defense and fundamentals.
