Default *Official* 6/18/19 Pitching and the 2-run Bomb Postgamer

Freaking Eloy! Had a feeling that was coming and it did.

Pitching and defense other than that one bad popup were excellent also.

Tomorrow Gio goes for the sweep.

That was awesome! Great job by Nova to match Hamels tonight who was very good himself. Eloy is a 22 year old manchild. It's going to be fun watching him make Cubs fans cry for the next decade plus.

Great bit of redemption for Eloy after the GIDP in the first and the nobody-wants-to-catch-it that thankfully didn’t cost any runs. Sweet, sweet win! Now go get ‘em Gio!

Eloy Jiménez is a good baseball player.

Nova didn't let the leadoff HR derail him, and the 'pen only gives up 2 hits in 4 innings.

Hey, is that Quintana trade looking better and better, or what?

Broken bat bomb. On the biggest stage as a rookie in the 9th, this is one of those moments.

Incredible

That was nice.
Sounded like there were some Sox fans at the park.

This is the most satisfying win over the Cubs in a long time. Golden boy Theo will have this hang over his head like the Brock trade.

Jason Benetti said it best: "Thanks, Cubs!"

35-36, despite starting pitchers (including Giolito) running a collective 5.44 ERA. I really don't think saying that they're close to contention is overly optimistic. So many of these roster spots have nowhere to go but up.

Hot hitters can make up for a lot of problems and right now the Sox have more than one guy who is hot and one guy who is simply blazing hot. I think Abreu heating up again too, so this tough stretch the Sox will be scoring at a good pace for most of it.

I give Ricky a ton of ****, but he manged a hell of a game tonight.

6-9 it's like 4 pitchers hitting.

Maybe he's doing a better job managing this mess than we give credit for.

Aaron Bummer, I take back all the crap I threw your way last season. Can we give Rick Hahn and Don Cooper a bit of credit for finding and fixing Evan Marshall?

I agree he managed a good ballgame tonight. Pitchers getting outs will always help with that but he pushed all the right buttons with the pitching staff.

I understand double switching Moncada for Rondon in that situation but it was weird that Yoan wouldn't swing. Maybe he is only confortable fielding right now and just swinging from the left side with his bad back?
