Default *OFFICIAL* 9.22.19 Dreams swept away

Thought we would sweep the Tigers but Lopez didn't get the job done giving up 3 homer's in 4 innings. Lopez needs to get his **** together if he's going to help the rebuild. 11 hits for the Sox but only 3 runs, Eloy with his 30th homer and now has 77 RBI, not bad for a guy who missed about 5 weeks due to injuries.

Coming home to play the Indians in a spoiler role and finish up the season with 4 against the Motowners, maybe we can sweep them in Chicago.

I actually feel sorry for the Tigers. They've been so bad this year. That said, a sweep would have been nice.

I feel sorry for us, 7 years of losing baseball.

Lopez is, unfortunately, on active bust watch. He should not be guaranteed a rotation spot going into next year.

Just as Giolito was last year. He's a young kid that has put in some good work in the second half.

I agree with the 2nd part here. The Sox better spend this offseason finding two starters for this rotation. Maybe Lopez can bounce back, but they'd be foolish to assume he can hold down a spot in the rotation.

The only guys who should be a lock (barring injury) are Giolito, Cease, and Kopech......and that's even if Kopech and Cease struggle to establish themselves as MLB starters.

It's a little late, but they could put Lopez in the pen to settle him down. The could put him there to start next season as well.

I don't see how that will help his command, which is the main issue.

The 3rd player in Sox history with 30 HRs in his rookie season. The other two were Ron Kittle and Jose Abreu. Frank Thomas hit over 30 HRs in his first full season, but didn't qualify as a rookie because he played enough games in the last 2 months of 1990.
