Is Jordan Danks doing anything this fall/winter?

Danks will be at instructional league. Wouldnt be surprised to see Beckham go there for a few weeks as well before Fall League.

I've always liked Gartrell as a dark horse prospect...hope he can really turn it on in the AFL.

I've seen Stefan Gartrell play in college when he was a teammate of Aaron Poreda at the University of San Francisco. My honest assessment then, and it still stands now, is that he is one-dimensional. Currently, he is batting .249 with 101 K's in 389 ABs.

Enough of the Josh Fields type players that are butchers in the field and have an unremarkable strikeout/walk ratio.

Yeah I agree completely. From this point forward we should only draft position players that can play very good defense, walk, don't strike out a lot, and hit a ton. Why haven't we done this from the beginning?

BTW I don't like sending some of the better pitching prospects to the AFL for the extra work. I'd rather send them home to get their work done. Send the Wes Whislers and the like instead.

I would have liked to see Danks and Brandon Allen get the work as opposed to some of those pitchers... JMO

One of the reasons they do this is to see if they want to add a guy to the 40 man. Lucas Harrell is already on the 40 man and I think they know what they've got in Poreda, but it's a good test for the other two, plus it lets the White Sox evaluate them vs. other team's top prospects.

I thought this was the name of a minor leaguer until I realized it was a misspelling of Saguaro, the catcus that blooms with the Arizona stat flower.

Chris Carter is going to the Arizona Fall League. I know some people still follow his career.
