BA had been pitching OK for the Yankees' AA Trenton Thunder after extended spring training, yielding seven hits and one earned run over his first 7 2/3 innings, striking out nine and walking one. Unfortunately for him, though, he was placed on the disabled list a week ago with 'general arm soreness'.
This is not a good sign for a 29 year old converted pitcher with so few innings under his belt. Last edited by wilburaga; 05-16-2011 at 05:35 AM. |

I know he is a rather polarizing figure around here, but I had a chance to meet Brian back in 06 and he was one of the nicest professional athletes I've ever met. I wish him nothing but the best and it'd be awesome to see him in the majors again.

You must have caught him between one of his meals of puppies and babies.

Maybe it was just between nights of boozing and picking up drunken groupies while staying out until 5 AM...

It's not like he pitched poorly before the injury. Maybe they feel he won't recover well?

If he had just started Game 2 of the 2006 season- everything would have been different.

Whatever else happens with his baseball career, he will always have his 2005 World Series ring.

I'd laugh but I liked Brian. And, ****, he'd be hitting better than some of the jokers in our lineup right now.
