Consistency was an issue with Beck, stuff is definitely not an issue. I like this pick.
Joey DeMichele 2B, probably just a good average hitter.

Sox 3rd round pick (108)

Joseph Demichele, 2B; 5-11. 188. ASU

Highlights from crew: Can hit, and has in a good program. Left handed hitter. May not stay at 2B, but rather float around infield a la utility. Mayo and Callis agree that he can hit.

Profile suggests a Lillibridge type, which isn't a bad thing. Guys that can play multiple positions with a bit of pop are a valuable asset.

Archie Graham: Right.

Yeah, he doesn't appear to be too much of a slap-type utility guy, but a guy who can square it up.

The Great Billy Beane just blew his 4th round pick on a HS football-baseball player.

But we all know only KW is that dumb.

Mets just made their pick, so the Sox are on the clock

Sox round 4 (141)

Brandon Brennan, RHP, Orange Coast College.

One of top JUCO programs. 93-94 fastball; starter's body; can start if he refines secondary pitches.

From BA...

48. Brandon Brennan, RHP, Orange Coast (Calif.) CC (National Rank: 245) [-] Brennan had a strong season as a starter for a powerhouse Orange Coast team. His durable 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame gives him a chance to be an innings-eating starter, though he might fit better in relief as a professional. His fastball generally sits around 89-91 mph with solid sink, though he has run it up to 93-94 at times this spring. His slider is inconsistent, sometimes showing decent three-quarters tilt and flashing average or slightly better on occasion, but more often resembles a below-average spinner. He seldom uses his changeup, which has a chance to be serviceable. Brennan is most effective when he stays tall and maintains his high-three-quarters arm slot, but he has a tendency to get rotational in his delivery and drop his slot, causing his stuff to flatten out.

Beck was a very interesting pick. He could have been a top 20 pick before the season but his stuff had a hiccup. You would hope they saw what it would take to get him back on track. Love it.
