For years, I have waited in vain for them to produce a blank floppy collar jersey, so that I could wear it with shorts. I'm now convinced that it will never happen, so I'm willing to buy this obviously non-1976 jersey because I still love the floppy collars. I want to wear it when the White Sox come to Washington this April. Does anyone own this? A bad review from a WSI poster is the last thing that could prevent me from spending $200 on this.

I think those jerseys get a bad rap. I prefer the all black away jersey. Either way, throwing down $200 for a novelty item in the wardrobe never made sense to me.

The away jersey was navy blue, not black.

I've got some hideous sport jackets and ties from the 70's and 80's if you guys are interested.

I don't think I would buy a original 1983 jersey but these new 83 jerseys really don't look too bad. I'm thinking they can do the same thing for the 1976-1981 jerseys.

No they didn't. They were horrible.

I'm still waiting for Mitchell & Ness to make this one in blue. I'd buy a blue one in a heartbeat.

![]() Pesonally, I would have a hard time forking over $225 for arguably the ugliest jersey in team or MLB history, however I can appreciate your love of nostalgia. Not sure if you checked e-Bay, but I haven't seen too many authentic throwback jerseys for less than $150.00. Good luck! |

As a middle schooler growing up in Beverly, I sported the Chet Lemon #44 version of that jersey ... and dreamed wistfully of one day also owning an Eric Soderholm #12.
Looking at them now ... wow. |

I've never seen one anywhere. Care to share where you've come across one?

I bought a Fisk road jersey at Grandstand back in 2007. It's been awhile since I've been in Grandstand but I would imagine they are still there.

I actually have two of these jersies. (Fisk) I bought an XL and a 2XL last year when Mitchell and Ness had a Black Friday sale. I tried to return the 2XL, but couldn't because of a no return on sale items policy. I have been thinking about putting the 2XL on ebay.
