Dunn has to go back to being patient...he only has 2 walks.
Sox have an on base of .279?

Glad its early.

That is what Pitch F/X says

4mph is a lot of velocity to lose still. He's essentially throwing at Buehrle speeds. He doesn't have Buehrle's control and only throws three pitches. He can't be effective like that. If he's not hurt and throwing 88-89 is gonna be what he does some starts, he's not going to be an effective pitcher. At least without learning and mastering a few more pitches.

This is from early last year and I believe it is for the average speed of the listed pitchers fastball.

For the season 12 for 80 .150

Given the way the Sox have played in Toronto the past few years this road trip could turn out to be a disaster.

Sounds like an improvement to me.

All winter and spring training I have been begging White Sox and Chris Sale to work on offspeed junque. The writing was on wall last year. OK so maybe the knuckle curve is not the right one, but something really off-putting like forker, slurve, sloshball, palmball hesitation, etc could be devastating addition. Pay attn to Barry Zito.

Slavko:

Not an improvement in my opinon because of the circumstances surrounding the game. They could have put it away early and didn't, then add in the number of hits and walks Mark allowed and 2 for 7 is not good.

I was just flipping through my NewsBlur news feed and noticed this SI feed item from yesterday's game. Check out the heading (not sure what you call it - but it's the smaller heading above the main headline at the top of this feed item. (The image is really small - you'll have to click on it and open it separately in order to read it.)

SI weird RSS feed headline.JPG

someone still has Buehrle=White Sox on the brain.

Not to hijack the thread, but what did Hawk have to say about the Sox facing Buehrle?

He has a devastating slider and a good changeup.
