Even if he can't pitch any longer? I will never understand why so many people are obsessed with the idea that a player must ultimately return to the team with which he began his career. Garland is done, and his putting on the White Sox uniform again won't magically correct the structural damage to his shoulder, nor will it improve his command of his pitches. He's finished.

They might put his picture on the office wall down at the old ballpark to remind the geniuses that its possible to get real talent by trading an overrated pitcher for a young prospect. Instead of the other way around. Although Jon was always a horns guy around here.

Hey, can another "Bring back Joe Crede" thread be too far off?

The Sox could use a long reliever to replace the Omogrosso-Heath-Troncoso shuffle back and forth from Charlotte.

Even if the Sox were interested in that, I'm sure Jon disagrees with the idea that he's no more than a mop-up guy.

Right now we have 4 left handed starting pitchers and with Peavy on his annual DL stint, maybe a right handed starter with experience wouldn't be a bad thing, anyways Garland is only making $500,000 a year. Peavy should just pay his salary.

Starting pitching is not a concern for the White Sox (maybe it is for the Charlotte Knights, don't care about them). Signing Jon Garland would make the team's sole strength weaker.
