I don't know. Quentin was a higher rated prospect, a former first round draft pick, and struggled through 2007 with a torn labrum. Their resumes were quite different at the times of their trades. While Quentin was one injury plagued year removed from a solid debut season, Davis was in his third straight season of being a disappointment since his good rookie season. Quentin certainly wasn't viewed as someone who had used up his multiple chances like Davis, and he certainly didn't have the contact problems that Davis had.
