Default Konerko and Crain on DL

Chicago White Sox
The #WhiteSox have placed RHP Jesse Crain (R shoulder strain, retroactive to 6/30) &1B Paul Konerko (lower back strain) on the 15-day DL

In corresponding moves, the #WhiteSox recalled 3B Brent Morel & purchased the contract of LHP David Purcey from @KnightsBaseball.

Mark Gonzales
Purcey, Morel up

Crain shoulder strain, Konerko back. Crain DL retro to June 30, had warmed in seventh inning last night, could return after break if ready

Crap. What are we gonna do if we can't move our best trading piece?

With Crain's sub-1.00 ERA halfway through the season, I beg to differ.

It sucks that Floyd got injured as well. He would have been a nice trade chip

Ventura expects Konerko and Crain back after ASB. Crain had MRI today

Konerko expected back till after AS break. Crain not thought to be serious --flared up warming up last night. Konerko digressed during game

Ventura said Crain is a "better safe than sorry situation." Said he didn't feel right after warming up last night.

Lets just hope that Crain is healthy enough to get traded

Agree. Everyday outfielders are more valuable that setup relievers.

But, yeah, this hurts the Sox for sure. Crain was (and probably still is) one of the guys on the trading block.

That way fans can complain about how Sox management is incompetent for not getting more in the Crain deal.

A middle reliever in the last year of his contract over an outfielder who has out up solid numbers for a while? Stop yourself.

I think you mean regressed. Digressed refers to going off-topic during an explanation of something.
