Given his contract status though, I doubt the Sox will put him on waivers. Unlike Rios, a team will certainly claim him.

He probably is on the waiver wire but would be pulled if the return wasnt right. Dunn and Rios may be just a dump but who knows, the Sox might want a return on them also.

I just saw the results and watched the vids on mlb.com.

Great result.

Alex Rios dogged the hell out of that Vernon Wells "single," if no one noticed.

They say he lost it in the sun and lights. Who knows though.

I noticed, Konerko was very far in right and Beckham was covering second because the runners broke. Either way, it was a great win for the White Sox.

Hopefully unlike when they swept the Marlins they don't go on to lose 49 of the next 50.

Won a game with a bunch of buck-fifty hitters in there at the end? Miracles happen.

No matter how you look at it, it was a damn fun game to watch. I cringed when Axelrod gave up the solo shot, but as Hawk always says; "Give em a finish!"

When we made the final out in the 11th, I texted my friend that Axelrod is coming in, so we're going to lose.

At first, it looked like I was right.

But then I was wrong.

A two-out comeback walk off in extras?

HOLY ****ING ****!

What a pleasant surprise to wake up to this morning. After I saw that Axelrod had given up a homer to Cano I figured that was it and went to bed. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

BTW I saw on At Bat that Coop got run. I'm guessing for arguing balls and strikes?

I was busy last night so I DVR'd this game and plan to watch it tonight. Definitely sounds like it was quite a finish. As I like to say, it is always great to beat (and in this case sweep) the Yankees, even during this miserable 2013 season.

October26 - Twenty-SEVEN years ago, I married my husband on October 26. Since that day, we have been blessed with a wonderful family. Then, on October 26, 2005, when the baseball gods bestowed their good fortunes upon us, we saw the White Sox win the World Series. An incredibly talented team of grinders made every Sox fan's dream come true. My family and I celebrated with reckless abandon. And now, we look forward to that day when our White Sox will once again be World Series Champions!

Definitely worth the watch, especially the last 5-6 innings.

I guess you chalk this up to ''thats baseball!''.
I respect Mo,but beating him in his last appearance in Chicago was very cool. The Yank fans in the house were all agog with him out there, snapping pics constantly, and were so certain of the usual close out..but no!....Gordo walks to the plate and everything changes.

I do think in this gloomy season, this series is the keeper...and I believe we have found our leader/second baseman for a decade. With PK exiting, the Sox need a new leader/face of the team, and I think it will be Gordo,in the Utley tradition.

I watched Alex on the popup single by Wells...he did lose it in the lights but ran hard til he saw PK getting in the way....he did not dog it,imo.
Just bad luck,really.

Tyler Flowers biggest hit of the year?...a grounder back to the pitcher? Maybe.
The walk to Gordo shows much respect.
Alexei is having his best hitting(average-wise) year since he came to the US....keep him.
Dunn's oppo single was a stunner, down 0-2 to Mo...that was like a miracle, but Dunn has made himself attractive to the Rangers lately.

Alejandro has frustrated all Sox fans with his mental blunders, but as Melton said in the postgame...he has been their best clutch hitter all year, really.

Call me crazy(and many will) but I still think that this team, with the addition of Garcia, and maybe another hitter, could compete next season.
Nobody has hit to their potential this year,or defended as well as they can...next year, baseball magic could happen on the South Side!

We were driving back home from northern Wisconsin during the game, and could only hear it on a very static-y AM670, starting about 2 hours north of Madison. When I heard the Sox were losing 3-0, I almost turned it off. But we listened to the entire game, with the radio cutting in and out during in some of the most critical parts (the 8th and 9th). Argh! But we heard the walkoff win; I grabbed my son's arm and we did some yelling and fist-bumping.

I'd recorded the game with extra time tacked on to it, and I just started watching it...but the recording only made it to the bottom of the 11th!

I just watched the bottom of the 9th. Did anyone notice Beckham blowing a bubble with his gum as he hauled butt to home plate with the tying run? How does he do that?
