Default No-Hitter Alert

Henderson Alvarez has thrown 9 no-hit innings vs the Tigers.

Problem? The Marlins have been held scoreless, as well.

No one warming in the pen, so it appears he will. Tough to not send Stanton on that tapper up the middle.

Walk off wild pitch no hitter.

There is no way those words have been strung together before.

Wild pitch or passed ball, runner scores, Alvarez celebrates from on-deck circle.

I'm watching him being interviewed on the Marlins station here in Sebring, does not speak a word of English, Marlins 3b coach is translating. Kid is really excited, congrats to him.

Crazy how baseball can produce craziness even on the last day of the regular season. There was a perfecto back in the 80s too.

Which is kind of funny because, with the bases loaded and 2 outs in a tie game in the bottom of the 9th inning, it's not like there was any chance he would come to bat

I don't buy it. The Marlins don't have anything to play for, they don't need the win so badly that they need to pinch hit for a guy throwing a no-hitter with no support.

He wouldn't be coming to bat. Either the batter gets out or the runner scores ending the game.

Has there ever been a no-hitter on the last day of the season before today?
