Post Anybody remember these caps?

One of the guys in the office found this photo of Eddie Stanky in Tiger Stadium. I don't remember the Sox ever wearing these caps and wondered if anybody on this site recognizes them?

That comment by Battey to Cuccinello in the Uni Watch piece is classic.

As an 8-year-old, I was goofy enough to like those blue sani socks and white stirrups. I still think it would be badass if they went to actual white socks.

I think the jerseys would be sharp if they were gray with the black "Chicago" on the front. I like simplicity.

The caps, however, thanks, but no thanks.

Never saw those hats before, funny thing is I saw a Sox road game that year at Metropolitan Stadium against the Twins.

reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask. Every bobblehead produced in the early 60s for the White Sox contains a light blue hat with the SOX logo outlined in red like the 59 logo.

Where does this cap come from. I'm curious because there are also a couple topps cards from that same period of time with the same hat. I'm pretty sure they never actually used these hats in any regular season big league games.

here are 2 examples

I wouldn't put too much stock in the Topps card. Striker played for another team the previous year, so Topps painted the Sox hat on and just used the wrong color blue.

This is a Sox bobblehead from 1964 that I bought that summer at Comiskey and is on the rear shelf of my first car, a 1961 Plymouth Belvedere that I bought in May of that year. The bobblehead did not look like any uniform the Sox wore, it was white and in light blue it had WHITE SOX in block letters on the jersey and SOX on the hat, the hat was light blue. The little guy on the left is something my girlfriend bought for the car on a trip to Mexico that summer.
Sorry about the quality of the photo, it will be 50 years old in November.
