Danks' deal is untradeable now. If he continues to not produce, he probably won't be in the rotation in three years. If he shows anything...he'll likely get moved (though we'd still pick up money). I don't think he'll be in our rotation in three years either way.
"Over" the next three years- so 2014-2016.

Remember a couple of years ago when damn near every thread turned into an Edwin Jackson debate?

Quintana is the new that.

Silly us, we all though Jose Quintana was Spanish for Mark Buehrle, but it's apparently Spanish for Brian Anderson

So, I've moved the munch vs. The world posts to here. This thread has already been hijacked enough with the Quintana posts.

The more I think about this I realize we'd be much better off with Dunn and his 30Homers than lack of production and bad defense.. We already have one coaching position reserved for loyalty and a dubious manager for loyalty reasons. Can't really afford more loyalty positions.

And now there's a What is Quintana? thread in which DeAza and Ramirez are being discussed...strange.

Back to the thread topic at hand, because I think this is something the Sox will need to address sooner than later in order to get it out of the way

My guess is that Paulie will sign a one-year deal in around a week or so for about $3.5m. I think they'll float him around a bit and try to use him against LHP whenever possible

I feel that he's more valuable to the Sox in even a limited capacity than he is to most other teams.

Until we can finally end the debacle of the Dunn era- PK should be the DH vs. LHPs- as bad a year as he had in 2013- these were his stats vs. lefties-

.313 BA
.398 OBP
.525 SLG
.923 OPS

If we can trade/dump Dunn- then he's full time DH for his final year

I just don't see PK wanting to come back to be a floater or a part time player. I think the longer we don't hear the more likely it is that he is not coming back.

Yeah, I kind of agree, you'd think if a guy needed two months to decide if he wanted to do something, that's not a sign that the spark is still burning bright.

In my heart, I want him to come back for one more season because Paul Konerko's last AB at the Cell should not be a weak pop-up against Kansas City.

However, unless they get rid of Dunn, where is Konerko going to play?

Just make a decision soon. I hope he stays for one more season, but I can see the scenario in which he calls it a career.

Yeah, what a puzzling move by the Sox/Ventura to pull him after one inning, especially considering how that first AB went...

I don't think Bruce Levine has ever gotten a "Scoop" correct regarding the White Sox. So we'll see..

Ken Rosenthal tweet:

Sources: Konerko will return to #WhiteSox.
8:37am - 4 Dec 13

I'm ok with this if Dunn is dumped and/or Viciedo is traded.

Otherwise this is the same cruddy season as last year and were not moving forward as a franchise.
