Anyway, of the outfielders in the poll, I think Coco Crisp matches best with the Sox. But I don't think he is a free agent until after 2014. So, of this group, I agree that Nate McLouth would be the best short term fit with the Sox. He does hit left handed and that is a plus. And, hopefully, the Sox' long term solutions in the OF come from within the organization.
De Aza has two more arb seasons left, so he is under control of the White Sox for 2014 and 2015. He's an FA after that.

Choo is a free agent this off-season.

I think I may have cooked up some junk trades before I was in high school.

Doesn't look like free agency is the way to go for the outfield at this point...if I had to take one of those I'd go with Choo, though. I'm just hoping the Sox pick up a catcher, personally. I don't really see a great match for the Sox at any position, unless these exorbitant numbers they're talking about for guys like Ellsbury are incorrect. I don't know how a .280/.340/.400 hitter is worth a 20 mil/yr contract.

With our luck they'd be cold and stale.

You really believe that Santiago and Flowers would not be appealing to the Angels? The angels need pitching and Flowers would probably satisfy the Angels since there in the running for a free agent catcher and flowers is younger and cheaper than Iannetta. As for Freese the Cardinals have already stated that he is available and even though you think all the Sox have to offer is garbage I think other teams might differ. Thank God your not the GM of this team or they would go bankrupt.

If you're going to spend as much as these guys are purported to be going for, might as well just go all the way and pursue Cano.
