Some bad news as Tyler Saladino is out for the year and needs Tommy John surgery.

Chris Beck promoted to Charlotte.

What's the ceiling on him?

Back of the rotation starter, he doesn't miss enough bats as evidenced by his mediocre BAA and poor K/9. He's going to get roughed up in Charlotte, but he's still pretty young for AAA, so it will be a good learning experience.

Francellis Montas returned from his knee surgery last night. Spencer Adams is also off to a good start.

Trey Michalczewski (19) has been promoted to W-S. That will be quite the jump.

Danish has still been masterful on the mound for W-S.

Montas had a nice outing rehabbing in Arizona, and Spencer Adams piggy-backed with another very nice outing.

Danish is mowing them down. Is there more belief that he could legitimately be a starter in the bigs? He was projected by most to be a reliever due to his funky motion coming out of the draft, correct?

People like Keith Law and a few others said that, but I think the Sox are willing to give him every opportunity to start.

I agree, averaging 5 IP per start as a 19-year-old in A+ certainly has all the makings of a guy they still project as a starter

Nice write up on Rangel Ravelo, if he could develop just average power he'd be a B/B+ prospect.

Hot-hitting Barons first baseman looking to add more power to game

New Dan Hayes article on our farm system. Jim Callis estimates that out farm system now is in the middle of the pack and rising.

I will take it....beats heck outta where they were in 2012.

Callis has never sugar-coated his assessments on the Sox farm system, so good to hear that he is impressed.

Tyler Danish's 25 scoreless inning streak gets snapped, but heck of an accomplishment for the kid.

Meanwhile, I am very much looking forward to Kanny's rotation next year with Luis Martinez and Spencer Adams highlighting it.

Not a Sox related news, but Max Fried, one of the best young SP propsects in the game, has to have Tommy John. Bummer!

Back in Charlotte: .350 with 2HR and 7 RBI over his last 10 games.

Hoping the arrows stay moving in the right direction for the schmuck.
