To be fair, if I thought paying for television was a reasonable thing, which I don't, I could see many Sox and Cubs games on cable here, since the cable company carries CSN Chicago. That does nothing for the fans of those other teams, however, who not only can't get their team on TV, but can't get them on the internet either.

The one improvement this year is that one of our local channels has picked up the WCIU games and runs them on one of their digital subchannels. So where I used to dread the WCIU games, because I couldn't even see them in a bar if I were so inclined, now I'm jacked because I can watch maybe 20 games this year on my couch. So for 2014, I'm happy. When (if) that deal ends, I'll go back to thinking that the blackouts really suck.

Yeah - The Indianapolis blackout is frustrating!
It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. - A. While I disagree with the MLB blackout policy, I understand its purpose for metropolitan areas where local RSN's carry games. But can someone explain to me how MLB benefits at all from blacking out the Sox/Cubs from Indy? Its not like CSN-Chicago will ever be carried by cable companies in Indy. Wouldn't more people be willing to buy MLB.tv or the MLB package from their cable company?
